Root node = the workflow. Depth-1 children = steps (LINEAR mode) or phases (BRANCH mode). A decision step’s children become conditional branches; deeper nodes become step checklists. Mark semantics in the NODE tab — nodes carrying workflow meta show a coral ◆.
